ABOUT THE SCARF

"The Plant Monster Scarf is based on 'Plant Monster,' an acrylic painting on canvas created for my solo exhibition "Utopia" at Voss Gallery in April 2020. The work was inspired by the unexpected beauty found in the pattern and texture of weathered lattice adorning a historical building in San Francisco. Despite the dilapidated appearance of the structure, it hosted an abundance of plant life. This abstract piece captures the joy I felt when stumbling upon this striking scene.

The "Plant Monster Scarf" is 100% pure silk. For long-lasting wear, the scarf is finished with a machine rolled baby hem and is made from silk habotai printed with reactive inks to preserve the vibrancy of the colors utilized in my fine art practice." —Jennifer Banzaca

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jennifer Banzaca (b. New Jersey, 1969) is a painter and designer living in San Francisco. After graduating from the Art Institute of Chicago (BFA), she went on to live in New York and San Francisco working as a digital designer for print and animation. In 2004 she resumed her painting practice and continued studies at the Art Students League and the New York Academy of Art. Jennifer has exhibited throughout the Bay Area and has been an artist in residence at the Skopelos Foundation for the Arts.

SCARF CARE

  • Hand wash scarf in cool water using a delicate detergent
  • Soak for 5-10 minutes and rinse gently; avoid wringing out scarf
  • To dry, place scarf on a flat surface and cover with a towel to absorb excess water
