"My mixed-media artwork speaks to the disparate impact the virus has had on the community where I teach art, the predominantly Latinx Fruitvale neighborhood of Oakland. Following shelter in place, our school created a food bank to help our families through this difficult time. Each week, I was able to deliver food and art supplies to families and see my students.  Pictured is one of my students, whose photo I took while we chatted outside his home." —Julianne Wallace Sterling
