ABOUT THE WORK

"“Evanescent” intertwines the delicate beauty of butterfly wings with the breathtaking hues of a San Francisco sunset. This piece is not just a visual representation but a celebration of the city’s essence. The vibrant colors capture the energy and diversity that San Francisco is known for, reflecting the dynamic and ever-changing skyline as the sun dips below the horizon.

Much like the butterfly, which symbolizes transformation and renewal, San Francisco is a city in constant evolution. From the Gold Rush era to the tech boom, it has always been a place of dreams and new beginnings. The wings in my artwork represent this spirit of metamorphosis, the freedom to explore new possibilities, and the courage to soar above challenges.

Additionally, the intricate patterns on the wings echo the city’s eclectic architecture and its blend of natural beauty with urban sophistication. The fusion of colors—from deep oranges and yellows to soft purples and blues—mirrors the fog rolling in over the city, mixing with the last light of day to create a spectacular, fleeting masterpiece unique to this city.

Through “Evanescent,” I aimed to encapsulate the essence of San Francisco: its resilience, its beauty, and its relentless spirit of innovation. I hope this piece resonates with you and serves as a reminder of the extraordinary city we all admire."—Ciserra

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Ciserra's artistic journey began in Houston, Texas in 1991, where her innate passion for creativity was evident from a young age. Her boundless curiosity and fascination with textures and materials led her to experiment with unconventional mediums, allowing her to develop a diverse skill set in textiles, carpentry, and painting.

HANGING & CARE

Artwork is ready to hang on the wall; hanging wire is secured on the back (nail and hook needed). Dust raw canvas with a clean, soft brush and HEPA-filtered vacuum to clean. Using a new, clean brush prevents transfer of grime from previous dustings.
