ABOUT THE WORK

"My painting reflects the journey of desire, imagination, uncertainty and mystery in moving to a new city. So many of my relatives uprooted, took a chance and moved from distant small towns to settle in San Francisco, leaving behind what they knew to start again. I was born in San Francisco in 1967. Although I didn't experience the Summer of Love, I'm influenced by the pop culture from that period of time."—Joseph Kosdrosky

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Joseph creates ‘animals’ that do the best they can to endure the modern world. His animal characters navigate the circumstances they find themselves in using determination, a certain flourish, and a sense of humor. These characters inhabit a color-saturated world of imagery culled from retro design, vintage children’s books, and catalogues of outdated products and technology. The silent though animated creatures invite the viewer to connect and invent a narrative for them as the protagonists of the story.

HANGING & CARE

Artwork is ready to hang on the wall; hanging wire is secured on the back (nail and hook needed). Dust raw canvas with a clean, soft brush and HEPA-filtered vacuum to clean. Using a new, clean brush prevents transfer of grime from previous dustings.
