ABOUT THE ARTIST

Shannon Glasheen is a Mission District, San Francisco-based artist. She is a trained fashion designer and self-taught artist who creates mixed-media sculptures from recycled bicycle parts. Her work is a representation of taxidermy trophy heads. As her art evolved, the trophy heads often expanded to include torsos or live model photoshoots with masks, which incorporates her fashion design background. The inspiration comes from years of being a bike messenger, having a passion for repurposing materials, and from the vibrant city of San Francisco.

Shannon grew up in New Hampshire and studied Fashion Design at The School of Fashion Design in Boston, MA. After relocating to San Francisco in 2010, she furthered her education and received a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Marketing and Management from The Art Institute of CA-SF.

HANGING & CARE

Artwork is ready to hang on the wall; hanging wire is secured on the back (nail and hook needed). Dust raw canvas with a clean, soft brush and HEPA-filtered vacuum to clean. Using a new, clean brush prevents transfer of grime from previous dustings.
