"Utilizing reductive simple dots, circles, dashes and line, the comprehensive theme of all my work is connectivity. Because of technology, the world is more connected than ever before and my attempt is to convey those flows, collisions, overlaps and missed connections."—Scott Idleman
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Scott Idleman was born in Stamford, Connecticut. After moving around with his family from rural Mississippi to the prairies of Illinois, he attended Kansas City Art Institute where he received a B.F.A. in Graphic Design with minors in fibers, photography and painting. After five years in New York City as a designer for the magazine publishing and music industries, Idleman settled in San Francisco and started his own studio, Blink. Yearning to escape the creative digital realm, he began translating his childhood doodling and mark-making into works in textured initially in acrylics and ink and currently in 3-D sculptures.
