ABOUT THE ARTIST

Gustavo Castillo - Gart Nation is a young self-taught artist of Honduran origin noted for his peculiar technique of drawing with ballpoint pen, portraits with a very high level of realism and detail. He began at a very early age to see this writing material as a means of expression due to the lack of special art materials, beginning to take his first steps in a technique that few dare to perform because of its difficulty and level of complexity, thus creating his own style and method. Among other artistic disciplines to mention are music, poetry and painting in which area pieces made with acrylics and oils in all their denominations stand out, as well as sculpture and ceramics.

"For me it has never been about what you do art with, for me it has always been about how you do it, in my world there is no limit to express what I feel, when a vision comes to my mind and invades me I share it with the world in the way I feel the best. It can be through drawing, painting, music or poetry. I try to be like a portal between the physical world and the mystical world of art. I am aware that there are many people who do not understand the dimension and beauty of art, that is why I have a lifelong commitment to this invisible force that drives me to continue working. There are no rules or sophisticated materials but just express what you feel, what you see, what the world shares. It can be in many forms including the gesture of a face or the involuntary movement of a body. HANGING & CARE

Artwork is ready to hang on the wall; hanging wire is secured on the back (nail and hook needed). Dust raw canvas with a clean, soft brush and HEPA-filtered vacuum to clean. Using a new, clean brush prevents transfer of grime from previous dustings.
