ABOUT THE WORK
"This painting was created with layers upon layers of paint. I covered previous ideas and directions until I found that one element that makes the piece whole. The word "artichoke" in the upper right quarter of the painting references a friend’s music album he was making which was titled "Operation Artichoke." I lost touch with them over the years, but I never painted over the word––leaving it on the canvas is a reminder of our friendship and my desire to reconnect with them."––John Osgood
