ABOUT THE WORK

"I created a painting years ago titled "Thinking Before Speaking". In that painting I created numbers in front of the head and the mouth. The 1 in front of the head and the 2 in front of the mouth. I felt it was a good course of action to hold onto. In this piece, "Foundation" I have the numbers reversed. Sometimes people do speak before they think and it can cause a problems. I feel people who do this have the ability to learn from what they say before they think. I believe it's a good...foundation...to start from."–John Osgood
