"I am poking fun at Trump's constant promotion of himself and his fellow cronies, as well as his general lack of awareness and connection to Americans. The lobster is in part a reference to a magazine cover from '04 showing Trump holding a lobster, captioned 'What America Eats'; he also recently bashed Obama over Twitter for supposedly destroying the lobster and fishing industry in Maine. For me the shiny lobster can be representative of both his distraction tactics and delusion regarding the quality of life that others than himself have, especially during this time. Also why is he posing for pictures with Goya beans on his desk during a Pandemic? These are just a couple of the things he has prioritized to avoid facing actual problems and accountability."
"Pres. Obama destroyed the lobster and fishing industry in Maine. Now it’s back, bigger and better than anyone ever thought possible. Enjoy your ‘lobstering’ and fishing! Make lots of money!” (Tweeted June 24th.)
