"Placing opposite colors next to each other creates the most contrast. Our human visual system is more sensitive to contrast than absolute luminance. When I began oil painting in the late 90s I was drawn to the inviting comfort of orange and blue color combinations. This painting is all about opposites attracting and the interesting elements of the rule of thirds at play."––John Osgood
