ABOUT THE ARTIST
"I was born into a large artistic family in San Francisco, California where both of my parents were artists in the visual and performing arts. My early exposure to this lifestyle may have quelled my early professional pursuit in the arts though never my practice. Ultimately, and many milestones and mediums later, I committed to oil painting. Sharp focus detail became a lifelong endeavor while blending trompe l'ceil techniques with surreal elements. I now practice my art professionally out of my SOMA district studio in San Francisco, California."—J.L. King
