"My work focuses on gender equality, by exploring the lack of female representation in most fields of work. This series was inspired by Nigerian writer Chimamanda Adichie, a great hero of mine. In realizing these intaglio prints, I wanted to represent the many layers of being a woman, the obstacles we face and overcome every day due to gender inequalities. I was strongly inspired by the richness of Nigerian fabric and prints, which informed the choice of warm and impactful colors, and patterns."—A. Lazaro
